Rogue wasn't naive enough to believe that once her water broke the birth would be over in the blink of an eye. After all, it was a baby coming out of a very small hole, and she figured that at least something had to happen for the tiny human to make the journey. But six hours into it, walking down the hall--well, waddling in her case--and she was ready to pack up and go home. She couldn't take much more pain, and she sure as hell couldn't handle the walking. She puffed out her cheeks as she tried to work on her breathing again, willing Mia to make her appearance. Her hand gripped Chase's arm, gloved fingers digging in as she held onto him tightly.

You know the saying ‘You don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone’? Just as accurately comes, ‘You don’t know what you’ve got til it threatens to go’. Time seems to tick away so quickly, that I sometimes find myself wondering how the hell Chase and I have survived in a relationship as long as we have. Something that was built on nothing but raw sex didn’t seem to have the foundation for staying power. In fact, I never expected it to last.

There. I said it.

9.6.1. TEN things you did but didn't want to do

1. Sleep with Chase whilst high on Meth. I wanted to do it when I was high, not when sober. It’s different. I wanted to eat my plant when I was high, too.
2. Euthanize Ezra Powell. I know it was the right thing to do in the end, but it went against all my ethics and morals. It still haunts me some days.
3. Resign from my job with Diagnostics. Just because I had to do it doesn’t mean I truly wanted to. It was a great job, but it was time.
4. Work in the ER. I like it now and it’s a change of pace to what I’m used to, but in the start, it definitely wasn’t my first choice.
5. Watch my husband die of cancer. Yes, I knew he was terminally ill when he died, but I didn’t want to him to die. You still pray for a miracle.
6. Write Wilson’s scrips for him during the whole Tritter fiasco. Don’t get me wrong, I like Wilson and respect him as a doctor, but I didn’t want to risk my professional standing to nest his enabling of House. I didn’t know his patients. It was wrong of me to sign my name to an unknown prescription for them, no matter how much I trust Wilson’s judgement.
7. Turn Chase down when he wanted a relationship. I was scared. It was easier to turn him down than let him get any closer. He broke the rules. That should have been it. I never planned to have feelings for him. It should have been simple, but it wasn’t. I should have agreed to date him when he first asked me.
8. Treat the HIV patient after he coughed blood in my face. I was terrified, but I had a duty of care to him. I had to keep doing my job or it would have drowned me.
9. Get the results of my HIV test. Damn House for opening them before me. Three months of fear and it was washed away in blasé moment of typical House indifference. Goddamn him.
10. Backing away from House. He wasn’t interested. Full stop.

3.6. TEN ways you use your body sexily/seductively

1. Cleavage. It never hurts to show just a little.
2. Fishnet stockings. If a drag queen can pull them off, so can I.
3. Finger tips. A teasing touch is more exciting than a grope sometimes.
4. Wetting my lips. Slowly. Don’t break eye contact.
5. Lingerie. Stuff that you can only just see-through. It’s not going to hurt a guy to let him try and use his imagination for a little while.
6. Arse. Draw attention to it as needed. You’re home free if they cop a perve.
7. Sitting on a guy’s lap. Do you realise how much you hold the reigns when your arse it pressed against their package?
8. Legs. A look is enough, drawing attention to their length. They aren’t stupid; they know what’s between them.
9. Kissing. You can control a whole sexual encounter with how you use your lips on a guy. Show him what you want just with your tongue.
10. Get naked. Need I say more?

Don't fall over in shock, but I'm back on board and ready to get my feet back into prompts and RP again! After a period of illness following some surgical complications, I lost Cameron's voice for a little while. I think a lot of it also had to do with the fact she's hardly ever on the show and therefore there is hardly any new material to work with.

But I'm bringing her back and I'm excited to be hearing her again. My apologies to my regular RP buddies for dropping off the face of the earth. It was always my intention to come back but it took a little longer than I thought to find her again. She's keen to be involved and I've app'ed her into a few more comms.

The chapel is cold. I never really noticed how cold it was before. Dark, too. I never noticed how dark it was. I don’t even belong here. Why am I here?

Oh yeah, I’m murderer. I took a man’s life and now I’m trying to seek some sort of forgiveness from a god I have never had any faith in.

You’re a hypocrite, Allison.

You spend your life frowning on people with questionable moral values and then you turn around and send your own down the toilet in one moment of weakness. House isn’t always right. He didn’t have to be right with this. A patient shouldn’t have the right to choose whether they live or die. A diagnosis could be wrong. There could be treatment to save them. It’s a doctor’s duty to do everything in their power to save a life, not take it!

But he was in pain. He was going to die anyway. I did the right thing. I had to have done the right thing. Treatment was only going to buy him a sliver more time, and that sliver more time was going to be filled with nothing but agony and false hope. Chase would’ve done it. He made that quite clear. Would he have done it if you hadn’t? He stood by House’s side thinking House was going to give that lethal dosage. It was irrelevant that House had no intention of doing it. Chase thought he did.

Chase believed in euthanasia.

I didn’t.

But Chase didn’t kill him.

I did.

I have no faith. There is no heaven and hell. There is only right and wrong. But what is right and wrong?

What is faith?

Now for something completely different... I have decided to dump Cameron on a random tropical island to see how she operates out of her comfort zone! That's right, I've just joined her in the new pan-fandom RPG, etrelibre_rpg.

When Cameron had been greeted at the front door of Riley's apartment by a young woman, she had just assumed the woman was Riley's twin sister. She remembered him commenting one time that 'they were far from identical', so it wasn't a huge jump to make. The Infectious Diseases clinic had released Riley into the care of his sister, so Cameron assumed the sister would be there. But when the woman opened her mouth with an accent very similar to Lachlan Campbell's, Cameron realised she must've made some sort of error. Riley was born in England and not Scotland and indeed the woman had introduced herself as Beth, a 'friend' of Riley's (and by coincidence, Lachlan) visiting from Scotland.

They chatted briefly with Beth revealing she'd gone to High School with Lachlan and met Riley while he was studying in Edinburgh. After a bit more small talk, Beth admitted that she wasn't sure if Riley was asleep despite the fact he was expecting Cameron. Cameron understood; she remembered the heavy, draining lethargy and sickness that came in the first week of the post-exposure antiobiotic treatment. At the very least, she was sure Riley wouldn't take the same route as her and try to numb the pain by getting high on Crystal Meth and sleeping with a colleague.

She knocked softly on the door that Beth indicated was Riley's bedroom and heard a soft 'Come in,' from the other side. She opened the door slowly and went in quietly. "Riley, it's Allison. You still up for a visitor? I can come back if you were sleeping."

I just wanted to say that like chasemd and justwilson, I'm going to verse-split Cameron into Canon and Fanon. Chase mun made me realise that we have four seasons of Canon we can explore in prompts and I have some ideas of what's been going on in Cameron's head for some of the episodes, so Cameron will have two verses from now on:

1) verse: canon
Everything here will be episode based and the Chase she refers to will be chasemd's Canon Chase in his verse: canon (episodic). Likewise, the Cameron he refers to in that verse will be my Canon Cameron.

2) verse: main (fandom)
Everything not Canon and where Cameron is well and truly hooked on Logan from the X-Men (hrtsevrytime). Chase is with Rogue (justalilcontact) and he and Cameron are best buddies after deciding to break up post Season 3 canon when the relationship didn't work out and they realised they were better as friends.

Also, thank you to whoever nominated me in Section 1 of realm_of_tammys! Party Animal? LOL! I feel very honoured!

Before Logan fell into her life, it had been some time since she'd shared her bed with anyone. Chase had been the last and she had missed him when they'd stopped seeing each other. But Chase had been prone to nightmares too, and her time with him caused her to someone how tune in to when he'd woken with one and left the bed.

She had a slight sense of dejavu as she slowly woke up and found an empty, but warm, spot in the bed beside her. Of course, there was no assuming it was a nightmare that had caused Logan to leave the bed. Maybe he was just a night owl or wanted to raid the fridge. Still, her automatic instinct was to worry and she pushed the covers off and slipped out of bed. She drew her bathrobe from the back of her door and pulled it on, then padded out into the main area of the apartment and found Logan standing in the kitchen. "Are you okay, love?" she asked, her voice husky from sleep. "Are you sick?"

Cameron barely made it into the last stall of the ER staff ladies room before she broke down in heavy, painful sobs. She peeled a string of toilet paper from the roll and made a futile effort to staunch the tears. This wasn’t supposed to hurt so much, not now…

Her sobbing echoed through the empty bathroom and she hoped to god no one came in and caught her at it. The last thing she wanted people to think was that she was weak. Normally, a confrontation with Chase wouldn’t have this affect on her, but this time it cut so deep into wounds she didn’t realise she was still harbouring. It was almost a year to the day. She’d gone months without thinking about it and now all of a sudden the weakened scab over the wound was ripped back and left her feeling hurt and exposed. She knew she had no real right to be angry at Chase for not telling her about losing the baby with Rogue. But it just hurt so much.

She needed a distraction. She needed to push it out of her mind and not let it consume her like this or she could ruin everything around her. It was time to forget it all over again and it was time to stop it breaking her again before it was too late.

She wiped her eyes and nose and then pulled her cell phone from her pocket and dialled in a number that was fast becoming very familiar to her. She sniffled, wiping at more tears as they streaked down her cheeks. When she heard that voice at the end of the line, she cleared her throat. “Logan? Are you busy? Do you fancy working our way through some of that list?”
